PaulinaMillerGallery.com Site

Located in Phoenix, AZ, Paulina Miller showcases outstanding work by emerging and established fine artists. The gallery is also a cornerstone of the First Friday Art Walk, a monthly event that routinely attracts thousands of gallery patrons. It made sense to re-establish her online presence, which included a total site redesign.

Paulina already had a sketch that she was pleased with. What she needed was someone to make it come alive. Working with her, I took a series of sketches and created a template-driven site. With that framework completed, I populated her inventory of artists and exhibitions.

To help her personnel manage the day-to-day site maintenance, I created an online wiki1 for documentation. This wiki, which any of us can update in real time, begins with an in-depth review of the site architecture and the conventions that should be followed.

The real meat, however, is a series of custom tutorials that are aligned to the most common tasks that will be performed: adding artists, rotating exhibitions, and the likes. Since the wiki is a living document, we can continue to add tutorials and best practices to it as they are identified. This solution is good in that it is continuously responsive to the needs of the client. Further, it mitigates risk and helps flatten the learning curve for new employees who are charged with site maintenance.
