Sometimes there are happy accidents.
I was brainstorming identities for a client–positioning various shapes and trying to balance the positive and negative spaces. I was struck at how repeating the teardrop shape perfectly silhouetted the quill from a fountain pen. What's more, the droplets seem to feel tactile, which reinforces the blobby and viscous nature of ink. All I had to do is clarify the pen motif by pulling down a dividing line where the nib would split.
